The Ancients' Love for New Year Prints

In conjunction with the exhibition "Profound Impressions: The Art of Liu Chunjie's Original Plates and Prints," Sun Museum will present a lecture titled "Sun Classroom | The Ancients' Love for New Year Prints," led by our Director, Dr. Lesley Lau. The session will take place on Saturday, 25 April, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Dr. Lau will guide audiences through a rich, thousand-year history of Chinese New Year prints—from Han dynasty door gods to the flourishing eras of the Ming and Qing dynasties—revealing their auspicious symbolism, traditional production techniques, and the folk beliefs that shaped them.

The event will be conducted in Cantonese with free admission.
