Chung Tai Fu's Gold Leaf Demonstration

In conjunction with the "Unbound: A Narrative of Mineral Painting" exhibition, Sun Museum will host a gold leaf demonstration on Saturday, 14 November, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The event is co-organised by Sun Museum and the Society of Mineral Pigment Art of Hong Kon, and features Mr. Chung Tai Fu, a participating artist of the exhibition, who will demonstrate gold leaf and gilding techniques in mineral painting while sharing his creative insights and artistic philosophy.

Chung graduated with a BA degree from the Fine Arts Department at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MFA degree at the Tokyo National University of Fine Art and Music in 1990. One of Hong Kong’s leading print and mineral pigment artists, he has won awards in a number of international exhibitions including Drawing Award and the Printmaking Award of the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial 1985 and 1989; Honorable Mention Award of both the 6th Seoul International Print Biennial and the 5th International Biennial Print Exhibition, ROC Taiwan; Printmaker of the Year Award sponsored by the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild in 1992; and the Silver Award of The Tokyo International Print Exhibition 1993.
