Professor Jao Tsung-i mentioned that ancient Chinese paintings express a rich sense of poetic and lyrical meanings, while ancient poetries and lyrics are infused with the spirit of painting. Poetry, lyric and painting are three forms of art that can be combined or interchanged. The lecture talks about this unique feature of Chinese painting.
